“I am drawn to colorful things! There are many variables to art. Each artist has his or her own unique style, statement and purpose. I prefer beauty, happiness, vibrancy, soulfulness. I hope that each work I create speaks to the heart and makes it smile.

I came back to art during a deployment with the US Air Force in 2016. I have always drawn and painted, but being with so many people away from their families for so long, I knew that I could offer them comfort by having a small piece of home to hang in their room. I asked my Airmen for photos of their pets, and during the deployment, I painted over 30 portraits to give them. When I came home, I started taking my art more seriously after seeing its powerful effects. If I can brighten someone’s day even a little, that is what drives me … that little smile when someone looks into the eyes of my animals or sees beauty in the natural landscape.”
