Weekend Workshop
Spring Landscapes in Pastel

With Teaching Artist Jane Gonzalez

Shake off the winter blues and immerse yourself in the vibrant colors of the season! This two-day workshop invites artists of all levels to capture the fleeting beauty of our Northwest growing season using the rich, expressive medium of soft pastels. Jane guides you through techniques for rendering the fresh energy of spring—from the joyful blossoms of a cottage garden to the budding greens of local treescapes.

Over the course of the workshop, you focus on the classic elements of our vernal landscape: the graceful structure of budding trees, picturesque scenery of awakening gardens, and brilliant pops of color from early flowers. By the end of the weekend, you’ll head home with two completed landscape studies and the confidence to keep creating your own pastel artwork. No prior experience is necessary—just your creativity and enthusiasm!

This workshop is for anyone looking for a mindful and creative art adventure, and those who want to learn the fundamentals of pastel drawing in a relaxed and supportive environment. Artists of all skill levels are welcome.
