Parent-Child Linoprint Stamp Making
Workshop with Teaching Rachel MacKenna,
For Parent-and-Child (ages 11+) Teams
Linoprint is one of the most traditional and most approachable forms of printmaking. With Rachel’s guidance through the planning process and tools of the trade, you design your stamp image on paper before transferring it to your rubber-stamp base for carving. Note: Linoprint involves sharp cutting tools that require parental guidance.
When your carving is complete, you choose your printing colors, prepare your ink and ride the wave of print production. Each parent and student can choose to create a separate design or plan a single image that brings their visions together. For an advanced challenge, students can try a two-color reduction print technique, which will also be demonstrated. All students take home their stamps to continue their printing exploration beyond the studio.
Dates: Saturday, August 1, 3–5pm
Location: Class meets at Willard Art & Frame
Tuition: $70 (+ tax) for one parent and one child ($35 per student)
