Comic Art with Christopher Griffin

We’re excited to host local artist Christopher Wayne Griffin for his popular Comic Art classes.

Learn the essentials of visual storytelling while working with a range of traditional tools and materials. You learn to design fully realized comics, comic books and graphic novels. A twelve-session series specifically addressing the fundamentals of creating comic art on paper using traditional methods.

No prior experience? No problem. All drawing styles are welcome and experimenting is encouraged. Ideal for teenage and adult beginners, you can sign up for a single class, or take a full series of 12 classes at a discounted rate. Class size is limited to 8 students to ensure individualized attention and a focused learning environment.

Meet Your Instructor: Christopher Wayne Griffin

Your host, Christopher Griffin, has been published in the San Diego coffeehouse newspaper The Espresso and The Casco Bay Weekly in Portland, Maine.

Chris has done illustration for print and private commissions, logo design, airbrushed display art and during the 2000s, edited and contributed to the Seattle comics zine FUM, now archived in the ZAPP zine collection in the Seattle Public Library. Chris is always up for starting another comics zine ... hint, hint ...
