Beginning Watercolor Studio
With Teaching Artist Alyssa Grundmeyer
Learn the essentials of Watercolor Painting with local teaching artist Alyssa Grundmeyer. Alyssa guides you through the basics of watercolor as you create your own small masterpiece at each class. She brings inspiring natural subjects to paint, as well as all of the tools and materials you need for each weekly project (although you are also welcome to bring your own watercolor supplies as well).
These weekly, seasonally inspired watercolor classes are ideal for teenage and adult beginners — no experience necessary! Class size is limited to 16 students to ensure individualized attention and a focused learning environment.
Class Dates
October
Five weekly fall-inspired classes, with a different fall theme each week, such as leaves, pumpkins, a tree landscape and more, with the opportunity to chose a your own subject or revisit a prior subject at the last class.
Wednesdays, 11am–1pm: October 1, 8, 15, 22 & 29
Tuition: $250 (+ tax) for the five-class series
November
In November and December (6 classes total), we will continue our exploration of fall colors by studying changing trees, hellebore and a beautiful fall landscape. As we move into the holidays, students will have fun with pomegranates and greenery! The last class, we will create holiday wreaths perfect for a holiday card.
Wednesdays, 11am–1pm
November 5, 12 & 19, December 3, 10 & 17
Tuition: $300 (+ tax) for the six-class series
Classes are open to students age 12 and older.

Meet Your Instructor, Teaching Artist Alyssa Grundmeyer
I am a watercolor artist and nature-lover living in Seattle, WA. I discovered a passion for painting after a decade-long career as a marketing professional and completing a certificate in Scientific Illustration. Now, I find endless inspiration during every season here in the Pacific Northwest, spending most of my time studying landscape, wildlife and botanical subjects. I frequently paint commissions from pets to favorite family vacation spots. Get in touch, I would love to hear from you!
