C. A. Pierce

Acrylic Painting

C. A. Pierce was born and raised in Mill Valley, California and now lives in Kirkland Washington. She studied art as an undergraduate in California and continued her studies later at the Pratt Art Institute in Seattle. She began painting professionally when she left the airline industry in 2001.

She continues to gain accolades in the greater Seattle area. Her works have been displayed at several local galleries. Her paintings are exhibited in public buildings in the Puget Sound area and in several corporate and private art collections.

“When I start a painting I always have an idea where I want to go, but often times the painting takes a new and surprising direction. Because I work with many mediums and layers, scraping and painting with palette knives and brushes and sometimes my dog's paws, I am often surprised at the interactions in various parts of the piece.”
