Parent-Child Monoprint

Workshop with Teaching Rachel MacKenna,
For Parent-and-Child (ages 6+) Teams

Monoprinting combines the fluidity of painting with the strategic layered approach of printmaking. In this class, you learn to use a reverse-painting technique to build your image from front to back. By painting on plexiglass instead of traditional paper, we create unique images that allow almost endless editing before they are transformed into their printed form.

The final effect of these images often creates a distressed look that gives the artwork an added boldness and unpredictable character. Collaboration is encouraged in this class and participants can work together to build their images from background to finished product.

No experience is necessary, and all supplies are provided.
