Fall Color Watercolor Exploration
With Teaching Artist Alyssa Grundmeyer
Welcome the colors of fall as applied to leaves and various fall subjects. You begin the series learning wet-into-wet applications and progressing to landscape studies by the last class.
Local teaching artist Alyssa Grundmeyer guides you through watercolor techniques to create your own small masterpiece at each class. She brings inspiring natural subjects to paint, as well as all of the tools and materials you need for each weekly project (although you are also welcome to bring your own watercolor supplies as well).
These weekly, seasonally inspired watercolor classes are ideal for teenage and adult beginners — no experience necessary! Class size is limited to 10 students to ensure individualized attention and a focused learning environment.
Wednesdays, 11am–1pm, October 21 – November 25 (6 weeks):
Week 1: Warm and cool tones in PNW leaves
Week 2: Vibrant Fall Sunset
Week 3: My favorite Pea Patch (gourds and vines)
Week 4: Monochromatic landscape study
Week 5: Painting a Rainy Day
Week 6: Revisit past subjects, a missed class, or try a bonus project
Classes are open to students age 12 and older.
Location: Willard Art & Frame

Meet Your Instructor, Teaching Artist Alyssa Grundmeyer
I am a watercolor artist and nature-lover living in Seattle, WA. I discovered a passion for painting after a decade-long career as a marketing professional and completing a certificate in Scientific Illustration. Now, I find endless inspiration during every season here in the Pacific Northwest, spending most of my time studying landscape, wildlife and botanical subjects. I frequently paint commissions from pets to favorite family vacation spots. Get in touch, I would love to hear from you!
