A Garden Unfolds: Spring in an Accordion Sketchbook Workshop

With Teaching Artist Rohini Mathur

Join Rohini for highly relaxing and joyful Spring Garden workshop! You’ll create a vibrant garden scene filled with colorful blooms, bees and butterflies in a 6-panel concertina (accordion) sketchbook.

We’ll explore loose, expressive floral shapes, basic color theory and simple compositional techniques to build a lush garden story that feels fresh, playful and full of life. Using watercolors and watercolor pencils, we’ll layer color and texture while drawing inspiration from spring florals. Sweet pollinators like bees and butterflies will be woven into the composition to bring movement and charm to the final piece. You go home with a lovely 140lb watercolor finished accordion sketchbook.

All skill levels are welcome, and all supplies are provided.

This workshop is open to students age 14 and older; class size is limited to 10 students to ensure individualized attention and a focused learning environment.

Workshop Date: Saturday, March 28, 10:30am–1 pm

Location: Class meets in person at Willard Art and Frame.

Cost: $70 (+ tax) includes all supplies.
